We are pleased to announce Kylie McQuellin’s appointment as the Chief Executive Officer of the NZSA. An experienced manager across both health and membership, Kylie will begin in the role on September 4th.

Since 2020, Kylie has been the Head of Membership Services with the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners (RNZCGP) and prior to this has held roles in health and membership services including with MAS, FMG and the National Screening Unit.

“Supporting health specialists engaged in critical mahi for patients, at a time of significant challenges and reform, is what attracted me to a role fully immersed in health initially at the RNZCGP and this role at NZSA.” Kylie shares.

She adds “I am looking forward to meeting a wide range of members, understanding the issues facing Anaesthetists in their professional environments and working with the Board and the team in the office to advocate for improvements and further strengthen the value of the Society”.

NZSA President Dr Morgan Edwards says “We thoroughly look forward to welcoming Kylie next month. Her strong experience across membership engagement and leadership will be most valuable in continuing to guide the NZSA in representing our members and the New Zealand anaesthesia community during such a dynamic time in health”. “I would also like to thank NZSA Membership Manager, Deanna Smit, who has stepped up as acting CEO for the interim.”

Nau mai, Kylie!
