WebAIRS incident reporting
WebAIRS (web-based anaesthetic incident reporting system) is the Australian and New Zealand bi-national web-based anaesthetic online reporting tool and incident reporting database available to all anaesthetists and anaesthesia departments in Australia and New Zealand.
With webAIRS you can anonymously report incidents, near misses and adverse events that occur in your health service.
WebAIRS is an online anaesthetic incident reporting system for Australia and New Zealand. Any anaesthetists and anaesthesia departments across the two countries can register and submit de-identified reports to its database.
By disseminating lessons learned from reported incidents the webAIRS team aims to improve patient safety and enhance the quality of perioperative care across the two countries.
Registering and contributing to webAIRS has many benefits, including;
- Enhanced patient safety
- Professional learning and development through CPD credits
- Data-driven policy and guideline improvements
- Collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Regular reports are shared through the parent bodies through newsletters, magazine articles and podcasts. You can read these in the NZSA’s monthly e-newsletter and magazine, New Zealand Anaesthesia.
WebAIRS is overseen by ANZTADC, a combined committee with representatives from its three parent body organisations – the New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists, the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and the Australian Society of Anaesthetists, with members from the two countries.
